The Company

One of the UK 's leading IT and Business Process outsourcers have an urgent requirement for an experienced Project or Programme Manager with Insurance sector and business change and transformation expertise to come on board at their clients site in Bournemouth on a contract basis for six months.

The Role

This role requires a strong, well rounded and dynamic individual with proven programme management capabilities. Reporting to a Programme Director within Project Services, this individual will be responsible for overall delivery management and appropriate governance of any given programme. The individual must have a demonstrable ability to work across all levels of stakeholders and third parties within a commercial environment

Accountabilities

Design, initiation and leading larger scale and complex programmes to achieve defined business outcomes, e.g. Divisional Target Operating Models (TOM)

Overall delivery management and reporting, with Senior Project Managers and Project Managers as direct reports who will be managing the day-to-day delivery

Establishing programme level governance and providing appropriate guidance to the programme team

Coaching and developing team members and wider project services community

Operating effectively in a matrix management environment

Successful achievement of agreed business / IT programme outcomes

Co-ordination and maintenance of delivery and commercial relationships with the key suppliers required to deliver the programme (internal and external)

Maintaining awareness of the programme's responsibilities for compliance with Group Risk, Audit, TCF and any other regulatory requirements

Actively supporting development and approval of the programme business case and annual business plans

Resourcing programmes appropriately i.e. balancing the mix of permanent, temporary and contract/consulting resources

Actively managing within the agreed programme CBA and the in year business plan/forecast for the programme and maintaining appropriate financial controls

Owning, maintaining and actively managing the programme RAID

Effective engagement with internal and/or external Exec/Senior level stakeholders

Skills & experience

Proven Programme Management track record in a commercial environment

Demonstrate effective and productive stakeholder management both internally at all levels and with third parties

Good communication and negotiation skills

Experience of managing people either directly or within a matrix management environment

Budget management experience

Strong leadership & coaching skills

Applies a commercial focus to all decisions, proactively identifying areas for commercial advantage

Excellent communication, listening and negotiation skills

Able to cope with varying workload pressures and to prioritise effectively

A professional and flexible approach

Encourages development of others through knowledge sharing to negate the risk of key man dependencies

Embraces change and seeks continuous improvement

Builds productive relationships with functions and third parties outside of the project team

Experience of working with alternative development methodologies

Previous line management experience

Experience of being a mentor

Relevant project management qualifications

Experience working within an outsourcing environment
